Maybe I’m a little late with this, I’m sorry it has taken me a while, but the news is nonetheless terrific and needs to be posted.
On January 17th 2008, the TV series “ER” will air an episode featuring the story of a little child with Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis! The goal is to raise LCA awareness. We need to thank Chicago Cubs’ Derrek Lee for this. In return for this incredible opportunity, he’s making a cameo appearance in another ER episode which will air on October 18th.
“ER” writers have had extensive conversations with LCA researchers, as well as Derrek’ lee and the people at his 1st Touch Foundation, asking for insight and suggestions. This is wonderful and will ensure that we make the most out of this unexpected, powerful opportunity.
The air date and the story are subject to change; I'll post more if I learn anything useful.
